Hi, I'm Ms. Danielle!I am the owner and primary teacher of Mena's Dance Xchange. I began my dance training at the age of 3 with Mary Lois School of Dance where I studied ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop. During high school, I attended Booker T. Washington's High School of the Performing and Visual Arts where I was a member of the African Dance Ensemble and Repertory I performing companies. My studies continued in college where I received a minor in dance from Baylor University and the Master of Arts in Dance degree from Texas Woman's University. I am also certified to teach jazz dance through the Texas Association Teachers of Dancing, Inc.
I have been teaching and choreographing for 7 years in Dallas, Waco, and Austin. I spent a year as the drill team coach for the West High School Dazzlers and served as President of the Baylor Dance Company. After graduation from Baylor, I traveled the Northeast coast and created choreography that was performed in over 10 prisons and correctional facilities for inmates to inspire hope and life change in prison and beyond. I am committed to making quality dance training accessible to all with an emphasis on developing confidence, technique, and collaboration skills in young students. I am honored to be the owner of Mena's Dance Xchange and look forward to meeting and sharing the joy of dance with new and passionate dancers! |
